My favourite scene in Nebraska - a road movie about stasis. Lives of quiet desperation. The gentle agony of ennui. Here, David (Will Forte) and Woody (Bruce Dern) watch the game with relatives. Notice the subtlety in the actors' expressions, the way the characters carry on the conversation far beyond the point most people would be interested. Why? Beautifully directed by Alexander Payne.
The Nebraska Football Experience Room situated in the front lobby of the North Stadium Complex on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, showcases Husker tradition for fans, players and recruits. The room, which features an extraordinary curved video display and surround sound, is a collaboration between DAAKE, Contrivium Design & Urbanism, Inc. and The Mixing Room.
The new Lancaster County Corrections Facility in Lincoln, Nebraska will allow law-abiding citizens to pay to become a voluntary inmate when it begins renting out cells for a single night this week. For $30 a night, the prison will open up hundreds of beds to people who wish to experience a day in the life of a prisoner: having their mugshot taken, receiving a prison jumpsuit and a tour of the facilities. With all proceeds going to the nonprofit Child Advocacy Center, paid-up voluntary inmates will have to be in their cells at 10:00 pm for lockdown with lights out occurring one hour later. After a cozy night spent on one of the prison's genuine 4-inch thick mattresses, inmates will be woken up bright and early at 6:00 am for breakfast and promptly sent on their way. Prison officials said t...
In 1997, NET Television made a film about a year in the life of Burr Oak School in Custer County, Nebraska. While this one-room school has long since been abandoned, it is not forgotten. We look back at a year in the life of the school and meet some of those kids today, all grown up. For more Nebraska Stories, visit http://www.netnebraska.org/nebraskastories.

Stayed 5 nights at this location. There was a check in issue that took a few minutes to settle. The front desk was trying to insist that because we were staying a Friday night, that we also had to pay for Saturday night, even though we were leaving Saturday morning. Stating it is their policy? I wonder if IHG corporate knows this? Eventually, we won and did not have to pay for a night not staying. But this uneasy, somewhat argumentative situation should not happen in opinion. Window air conditioner reset and turned off when I moved from cool to heat and I had to wait about 3 hours before it started working again because no maintenance on duty. Other than those items, the HIE chain is what I remembered and this is the best place to stay when near Hastings. Room, breakfast, pool area and ch...
http://video.pbs.org/program/old-house/ Richard visits Oklahoma to install a safe room for tornado protection. The safe room is constructed of poured concrete, all poured at once to prevent joints. Richard sees a safe room that survived a direct hit from an EF5 storm, then sees a new safe room built, and meets a homeowner that has ridden out several tornados in her safe room.
The Element in Omaha Nebraska view of our room. This is the first time we stayed at an Element property. The staff was very friendly & the room was great. We stayed in a King Size Room. Feel free to ask any questions & I will be happy to respond.
